Passion: I went to school for painting and music performance (I can rock an oboe like none other), but wasn’t sure where that was going to lead me in terms of money earning. Post-college and pre-design agency, I discovered that apparently people can get paid to do the very thing that I had been obsessing over late into the night since high school: designing and coding web sites!
I went in as a designer, was transformed into a coder and Flash developer, and now I live in that wonderful in between land, which allows me to take projects from start to finish, from inception to completion and beyond (for as we all know, no web site is ever “complete”). In agencies and departments, I speak the languages of both the developers and designers, and I live in the space where design meets code, where static comes to life and code transforms into action and movement.
I am passionate about standards, about usable and informative design, about marketing and about making clients succeed.
I’m also passionate about mountain biking, bike touring, and writing novels.
